One of the most beautiful magical corners of all Sicily, is hidden between Castellammare del Golfo and Trapani; wild and ancient paths take us inside a dream oasis immersed in the typical Mediterranean environment of evergreen trees and shrubs that climb on a rocky ground close to the sea of San Vito Lo Capo. The Zingaro has an area of 1650 hectares with a coastal strip of about 7 km, formed by a rocky coastline of Mesozoic limestone, intercalated by numerous coves and characterized by overhanging cliffs that from a maximum height of 913 meters. (Monte Speziale) quickly lead to the sea.

The only thing possible in front of this beautiful landscape of the Zingaro nature reserve is to be amazed at every step for the breathtaking views: limestone rock walls rise above a rich and flourishing vegetation, then ending up throwing themselves headlong into a crystalline sea.

The terrestrial reserve is however closely linked to the sea, which is not only the geographical boundary but the constant background of the landscape and the indispensable complement of the naturalistic aspects.

Perhaps they too are intimately enchanted by the beauty of those waters that fade from light blue to deep blue and green.
A sea of which even the naked eye can see the seabed without difficulty, a sea that gently caresses the white beaches of the small coves, a sea that creeps among the submerged caves to hide and unveil the life of the fish and plants that animate it .

The pebbly coves seen from the sea have the appearance of clearer niches hollowed on the side of the Dolomite walls that entering from the south side of Scopello and going to the North take the name of Cala della Capreria (photo on the left), Cala del Varo (reachable via sea), Cala della Disa or Zingaro, Cala Beretta, Cala Marinella, Cala Torre Uzzo whose limestone substrate enhances the transparency of the water just like a tropical environment. And finally Tonnarella dell’Uzzo.
